Chicken Caesar Salad Calories

Posted Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Chicken caesar salad calories vary from dish to dish and are also dependent on the place of purchase. Every store that sells chicken Caesar salads have their own ingredients in the salad and also the difference may seem slight it actually adds up to a lot.

For example, the salad dressing used in a particular Caesar salad may be completely unhealthy, whilst another uses lime instead of a conventional salad dressing. This changes the calorie count dramatically. Also, the actual type of ingredients used makes a huge difference as well. The source of the ingredients used amounts to the calorie intake. If you have a salad that has genetically modified vegetables in it you’ll be consuming more calories than one that is organically grown because genetically modified ingredients are known to have more calories in them.

Counting calories is not the most efficient way of eating healthily and being healthy in general. A calorie is simply a unit measurement of energy expenditure and as such is not a real measurement of the health of a person. Whilst one chicken Caesar salad may have more calories than another, the calorie measurement may have more saturated fats and thus be worse for you…health wise.

If you are interested in having healthier meals you are far better off preparing the meal yourself as opposed to purchasing one from the supermarket. This way you have control of the ingredients you put into it, ensuring it is healthy.
